Palm Beach, Florida based Gavlak Gallery recently opened a new space in Hollywood, California. Located near the intersection of Highland and Santa Monica Blvd, Gavlak joins other prominent galleries in the area. The new Gavlak adds a new dimension in the growing art scene located in the heart of Hollywood. According to an interview with ARTINFO, Sarah Gavlak states that “Regarding my choice of LA for the second gallery location, I have a personal history with the city, I moved there in the early 90s, attended grad school at the Art Center College of Design, and got to know many artists who live and work there. I am looking forward to living in a city that is very artist-centric, and working with many of my friends in LA more closely.”
The inaugural group show features artists Lisa Anne Auerbach, Liz Craft, Orly Genger, McDermott & McGough, Betty Tompkins and T.J. Wilcox, among others. In September, the gallery will feature a solo exhibition by Lisa Anne Auerbach.
